Manifestation Changed My Life - and Science Can Why

I used to scowl at the mention of terms such as manifestation and the law of attraction. They were like those in a self-help book that make too big a promise and not big enough a delivery. However, now I can accurately say, several years later--manifestation changed my life. Even more incredible is that science is beginning to understand why it works.

What Is Manifold, Indeed?

It is important to clear up that manifestation is not magic. It has nothing to do with sitting cross-legged, closing your eyes and waiting the universe to drop your dream job, or soul mate at your doorstep.

Manifestation is, essentially, the intentional act of directing your thought, feelings, and actions towards what you are willing to bring into existence in your life. It is a combination of attitude, visualization, and hard work. Believe in something and act each day toward it, and you have a higher chance of accomplishing it.

Sounds simple, right? However, there is some very interesting psychology and neuroscience behind that simplicity.

Manifestation and the way it transformed my life.

The first time I began to experiment with manifestation was at one of the lowest moves in my life. I was languishing in a job I despised, being unnoticed and uninspired. I had stumbled on a video on manifestation and despite being skeptical, I thought that I would give it a chance, primarily because I had nothing to lose.

Each morning, I jotted down my desires: I am blessed with a satisfying creative profession that earns me good money. I read it aloud, although that was not easy in the beginning. I pictured what it would be like to wake up looking forward to going to work.

At first, nothing happened. However, months later, I could discern some slight modifications. I began to apply to jobs that I thought I could not get. I started to network with greater confidence. My vigor was altered--and the chances were as well.

Six months later, I got my dream job in one of the creative areas that I enjoyed. That was the moment I understood it wasn't merely positive thinking. It was reworking my appearance in the world.

The Science Of Manifestation.

Now, I want to speak of the aspect that an unbeliever will enjoy, science.

01.The Reticular Activating System (RAS): The Brain Brush.

Have you ever made up your mind that you want a certain car and then you begin seeing it all around? Your Reticular Activating System at work. The RAS is a group of neurons in your brainstem that sifts through the information that you are aware of.

Your RAS labels something as important when you pay attention to it, such as your goals. It begins to pay attention to opportunities, individuals and resources that resonate with that emphasis. The mechanism is used by manifestation. You are literally training your brain to seek what favors your vision.

02.Neuroplasticity: Wiring Your Brain.

Our brains are in a continuous state of flux- a process known as neuroplasticity. Once you repeat affirmations, visualize success, or you think positively, you stimulate the neural pathways that reinforce the beliefs.

That is, you are training your brain to do something new. These patterns affect your actions and decisions and your emotions over time. That is why making it happen may seem like magic--but it is just a matter of your brain being on your side.

03.The Strength of Love and Power.

Emotions are strong incentives. You engage reward and motivation mechanisms in your brain when you are excited and appreciative about something, even before it happens.

Research on positive psychology indicates that individuals who engage in positive thinking and practices of gratitude are more successful, heal quicker than other people, and have greater life satisfaction. Then when practice of manifestation makes you act like something your dreams are already there, it is not deceiving you, it is just it is making your brain prepared to achieve success.

The Missing Ingredient: Action.

So, time to dispel an administrative myth: non-actionable manifestation is no good.

You may visualize your goals throughout the day but it is by action, effort and perseverance that you will see any results. When your thoughts and actions are in one direction, it is called magic.

Think of it like setting a GPS. You cannot simply enter where you want to go and sit there; you have to drive. Manifestation assists you select the destination and observes the finest path but still you are driving the car.

How You Can Begin Manifesting Today.

In case you want to manifest yourself, here is a basic, science-proven routine that you can begin at any time:

  1. Get clear on what you want.

Be specific. Don't say I want to be successful, say I want to have a small design business that provides me with creative freedom and stability.

     2. Visualize it.

Take several minutes in the morning visualizing your dream situation. What does it look, sound and feel like?

      3.Write it down daily.

In order to have your brain treat your goals as real, it is beneficial to write your goals in the present tense (I am, I have).

      04.Take small aligned actions.

Enroll in that course, email that, or post your idea online. Every action strengthens your faith and takes you to your destination.

        05.Practice gratitude.

Be thankful. Enthanking changes your thinking about not having into having, creating opportunities to get more of the good things.

The reason Why Manifestation Works Better Than You Think.

Expression is not an instant solution. It is a change of attitude, a perception of yourself as competent, deserving and in charge of your destiny. When you believe in that and put in a lot of effort, then your life begins to reflect your thoughts.

Science is just starting to figure out that what spiritual teachers have long been telling people is true: your thoughts are what determine your reality. You may call it manifestation, or focus, or the power of intention, but it all comes down to the same thing, you are what you believe.

Final Thoughts

In perspective, it was not only manifestation that opened some new opportunities to me, but it transformed me. It made me quit doubting my value, to take risks and to think that I could make my own reality.

And science has no arguments with that: once you believe in yourself and you act on this belief, your brain and your behavior would come together to make it possible.

So when in doubt, you can. Start small. Write down dream one and take one step towards it today. You will find that your world begins to change very quickly.
